Jemma Russell

Administration and Research Officer

I have worked at Involve Yorkshire & Humber since October 2011. My role includes administration duties and helping to plan, analyse and report on Involve's research work. I also support Involve's communications work through our website, e-bulletins and social media. I work closely with the Involve staff team   to assist project planning and to set up events and meetings. I work closely with Sarah Stead.

I moved to Leeds in 2007 to study for a BA in Theology and Religious Studies, followed by an MA in Religion and Public Life at the University of Leeds. As a student I volunteered with Leeds STAR (Student Action for Refugees) and was part of the Leeds City of Sanctuary movement, which developed my interest in the voluntary sector and a particular concern for asylum and migration issues, and also with ISWAC (Independent Somali Women and Children). I have currently volunteer as a hub leader for Leeds Foodcycle, which collects surplus food to cook a healthy and nutritious meal for people in the community.

I have a keen interest in cooking and sharing food, reading and listening to live music.
