Show me the evidence is one in the series of Landscape seminars run by Involve Yorkshire & Humber.
Understanding what’s happening to voluntary and community organisations and communities is critical. Without evidence, planning ahead, making the most of scarce resources and planning the right response is impossible.
This is why our research in Yorkshire and the Humber is such a vital resource. This Seminar will link all our research together to paint a vivid picture of what’s happening to the voluntary and community sector (VCS), not in general, butin Yorkshire and the Humber.
Involve Yorkshire & Humber commissioned the Third Sector Trends Study – the biggest of its kind in England – and worked on the report A Big Society in Yorkshire and the Humber? We also mapped the distribution of local authority spending cuts and the spread of unregistered community activity. We have worked with academic colleagues at Sheffield Hallam University, University of Southampton, NCVO and with the Northern Rock Foundation.
hear about the research and what it shows - there are some surprises!
gain insights into how disadvantage and ‘Big Society’ activity is linked together and how it is different across the region
hear about how a local authority officer and a voluntary organisation have used the research
discuss the future for evidence-based social policy and Involve Yorkshire & Humber and Sheffield Hallam’s plans for research into VCS financial vulnerability and its impact on services.
