Launch of the new Yorkshire & Humber VCS Learning & Skills Network

Involve Yorkshire & Humber are facilitating a new Learning & Skills Network for the voluntary and community sector in Yorkshire and Humber (LSVN), to be launched at Queen's Hotel, Leeds, on Thursday May 26th.

LSVN is an informal network with open membership for all VCS learning and skills organisations and consortia working across Yorkshire and the Humber. The Network, which is funded by the Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS), has the following draft objectives.

At the launch you will be able to join the network. The programme for the launch includes the following speakers:

  • Dr Colin Forrest (LSIS) - The role of the voluntary sector as provider of high quality learning opportunities – support programmes from LSIS.

  • Mandy Crawford-Lee (Skills Funding Agency) - Voluntary sector provision – distinctive and valued – but needs to compete with the rest.

  • Jane Ward (NIACE) - Trends in adult informal learning and their impact on the VCS

  • speaker to be announced from Skills Third Sector - Four new VCS Apprenticeship frameworks

Lunch will be provided. Please book your place by Friday May 20th.
