Designing HealthWatch: an event for the voluntary sector

Your role in a succesful HealthWatch

Involve Yorkshire & Humber and Regional Voices organised this event on 10 December 2012 at St George's Centre in Leeds. The key theme was to show voluntary and community organisations could play a role in a successful HealthWatch. The event was intended to prepare the voluntary sector to interact with and contribute to the functions of local HealthWatch.

HealthWatch is an integral part of the NHS reforms introduced under the Health and Social Care Act 2012. OurDesigning HealthWatch event aimed to lookbeyondthe current commissioning and organisational challenges of Healthwatch and pave the way to maximising the contribution the voluntary sector makes to HealthWatch. It explored the variety of ways through which the voluntary sector can contribute to strengthening the collective voice of people in health and social care and help to ensure that it reaches across diverse communities and engages effectively with communities.
