VCS invited to join new Patient Safety Network for Yorkshire & the Humber

Safety in Numbers is a new, free to join network for anyone in Yorkshire and Humber interested in improving patient safety or organisation or with an interest in patient safety for their members. The network is free to join and may be useful for voluntary and community sector organisation that work with patients and the public. It will offer members a “one stop shop” for all things patient safety, including access to resources, the latest patient safety information, the opportunity to network with colleagues and more.

The Yorkshire and Humber HIEC and Yorkshire Quality and Research Group  are keen to ensure that existing good practice made available by other networks such as the NPSA is not lost as they begin to close down.

Why join?

This is a free to join ‘grassroots’ network and anyone involved in healthcare can become a member –patients are welcome to join too. The group will be focused on the needs of the Yorkshire and Humber area but the knowledge shared will be wider and cover the UK, and where relevant, international resources.

Becoming a member of the network will mean you can:

  • Connect with colleagues across the region working on similar patient safety issues
  • Access  free resources currently including SAVI videos and Introduction to Patient Safety on-line module
  • Participate in the Patient Safety On-line Forum which will include open forums on topics of interest to all members alongside forums for specific interest areas
  • Receive up to date news and updates on all things patient safety through Twitter and regular e-bulletins including signposting resources, national policy announcement and access the latest research and resources
  • Influence the national patient safety agenda with  your  ‘hot topics’ and priorities
