Celebrating Adult Learners Week

Kirby Howarth

Highly Commended

Kirby started the Digital Musicians Course at Access to Music in York in 2009 and is now in his final year. He has found theKirby Howarthwhole learning process incredibly positive and productive, and Kirby’s tutor says that the quality of his work is outstanding.

During his time at Access to Music Kirby has written, recorded and produced his EP which is now available on iTunes. Kirby’s youngest son Ewan, who has Williams Syndrome (a genetic condition with heart related issues), loves to play the drums and is an inspiration to Kirby’s work.

Access to Music say that they would like the Adult Learners Week 2011 Awards to demonstrate to Kirby how much his contribution to the centre is valued.

Yorkshire & Humber Adult Learners' Week is coordinated by Involve Yorkshire & Humber. Adult Learners' Week Awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the life-changing learning done by people in communities all over Yorkshire and Humber, and the central role of the voluntary and community sector in supporting learning.
